I just got an email today from the editor of Yarn Magazine www.yarnmagazine.com.au trying to track down the winner of the Amazing Yarn competiton held at The Bothwell SpinIn in Tasmainia earlier this month. I had no idea that I had won until I went to their website to see if the competition results had been posted http://www.bothwellspinin.com Would you believe I've been so busy with stuff that I had forgotten all about the competition?!! I would like to know what the yarn auctioned for, as the proceeds were to benefit Steve Irwin's wildlife foundation. Wow...I'm thrilled! Amazing Yarn- how cool is that!?
But the yarn is amazing! Congratulations and big hug! I'm so happy for you :-D
ReplyDeleteThe yarn is great! So glad you won! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I really wrestled with those fibers. The faux snakeskin was very slippery material to work with. Steve Irwin's love for life was inspiring and his child-like wonder for the natural world infectious. I rather thought the world was much more intresting (and beautiful) place with him in it. My heart goes out to his daughter and his wife.
ReplyDeleteWell, YarnPunk, I am the one who bought your AMAZING fiber at auction! The bidding was hard, and it was my first auction, but I was DETERMINED to win. I nearly jumped out of my seat on the final bid! It went for $80Aud and will take pride of place at home! It was my first Bothwell Spin In and I loved it - the people, the place, the time with other spinners and weavers! Running out of space - I will have to write again!
